Bath In 2008 The Jane Austen Centre in Bath hosted the first exhibition in the series 'Romance and Reality' and The National Trust property Fenton House hosted an exhibition '‘Miss Austen Redressed’' both part of a campaign which raises awareness to craft skills. Power of Hands Foundation is currently raising funds for the craft workers in Galle, Sri Lanka who are stranded in dire poverty. Costumes included in these exhibitions incorporate their wonderful hand made bobbin lace and tatting. Productions in which Andrea has profiled the women's work are the BBC drama 'Miss Austen Regrets' , ITV's Persuasion, Jane Eyre and most recently 'Poirot' and 'Miss Marple'. Raising awareness to how Andrea Galer's work fuses their craft and film costuming. |
