TRADING THROUGH HISTORY 12th January 2012 Through my work in producing costumes for film and television, I have come to understand how trading through history in the textile industry impacts on lifestyle past and present. The images shown here are combining textiles and crafts we take for granted today, connecting textiles with craft skills in an ethical way. The intricate traditional hand made lace from Galle, Sri Lanka to the contemporary European minimalist designs as seen on the following actresses: Whitechapel - Screening soon Stephanie Leonidas, star of Whitechapel, is wearing a Regency cut Harris Tweed Jacket as featured in the popular ITV show. Camila Power, who also stars in Whitechapel, is wearing a grey wool suit, part of our professional woman's suit collection. Miss Austen Regrets - 2007 Imogen Poots, who stared in Miss Austen Regrets, models the traditional night dress and the bias silk green dress, part of our evening collection. Olivia Williams, who also stared in Miss Austen Regrets, models the traditional night dress and Regency dress with lace sleeves. Jane Eyre - 2005 Ruth Wilson, star of Jane Eyre, is wearing part of our Bridal collection. FASHION COLLECTIONS The AG fashion label has built it’s reputation for over 20 years with high end professionals and the film industry. All of the AG collections are available for the ethical fashion wholesale market. You can view our case study for the Sri Lanka lace project here.
